What is
ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a systematic approach used to modify behavior by applying principles of learning theory. It involves breaking down complex behaviors into smaller components and systematically teaching or reinforcing desired behaviors while discouraging or extinguishing unwanted ones. ABA therapy is commonly utilized in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) but can also be effective for other developmental disabilities, behavioral issues, and even in organizational settings. It typically involves detailed observation, data collection, and individualized interventions tailored to the needs of the person receiving therapy. The ultimate goal of ABA therapy is to improve social, communication, and adaptive skills, leading to a better quality of life for the individual and their caregivers.
